He served in the Carter White House as a special assistant for Vice President Walter Mondale and has worked on 11 presidential campaigns in senior positions, including Vice Chair for the Lieberman for President campaign. He chaired all of the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) activities at the Democratic convention in Chicago (1996) and Los Angeles (2000)
